Interesting facts about The Walking Dead
Just as I do with almost all shows in such a genre, I started watching The Walking Dead as soon as it was released. The first season was great and I couldn’t wait for the second. However, after watching the second, I kind of felt that it would be all more or less of the same and stopped watching it as religiously as I used to do.
However, if you are still a big fan of this show, here are some facts about it that you probably didn’t know.

– HBO passed it on claiming it was too violent
Yes, the same network that brought to you the bloody, incestuous Game of Thrones thought that The Walking Dead was too violent for its viewers!
– The main logo keeps changing
The show’s credits have been changing over the years. But did you ever notice what was happening to the main logo? It has been getting darker, grimier and more worn out from one season to the next.
– There are many similarities with Breaking Bad
If you have watched Breaking Bad, you’d realize that there are many similarities between the two shows such as red Dodge Challenger and the Blue Sky meth. Will there be a cross over between the two? You’ll have to watch and let us know!

– Jeffery DeMunn asked for his character to be killed off
Dale was asked to be killed off the show after his friend and show creator, Frank Darabont, was fired in season 2.
– The character Dale was not part of the book
The role of Daryl was created to match his unique acting skills and talents. He was not originally in the book.
– Carol was supposed to die instead of T-Dog
Producers were growing tired of T-Dog showing up late to shooting and his negative attitude so they decided to axe him. Carol was supposed to be eaten alive by zombies and producers decided that T-Dog would sacrifice himself to save her.
– The show is shot on 16 mm film
The show is being shot using Kodak’s Super 16 mm rather than digitally. Why? Simply because film matches the tone of the show much more than digital does.

– Rick always carries around the bullet that killed Lori
Right after he realizes his wife is gone and before he goes on his rampage, Rick visits the spot of Lori’s death, takes the bullet that shot her dead and keeps it with him.
– Thomas Jane almost played Rick Grimes
After working with him on “The Mist”, the show’s creator was going to cast Jane for the role of Rick Grimes. However, Andrew Clutterbuck eventually got the role.
– You will never know the source of the zombie outbreak
Just as Robert Kirkman said he would never reveal the source of the outbreak in the comic, the show will probably do the same and keep us in the dark about what brought about the end of the world.
– Carl’s stunt double is a 31 years old woman
Finally, in case you didn’t know: Carls’ stunt double is a female! Probably explains why Carl looks and acts like a woman most of the time!
