In previous posts, we discussed the importance of corporate videos for exposure, growth and success. Today, we will take it a step further and share with you the secrets for making the perfect video that will portray what your business is about and engage your customers as well.

  • Choose the right video topic

Before you rush into the filming process, there are a few things you need to consider. The first one is deciding on your video topic. Will your video be a general introduction about your business, its goals and mission? Or will you be highlighting a specific product or service? Do you want your video to feature customer testimonials? Or will you use it for product demonstration? Once you decide on the topic, it’s time to move to the next step.

  • Create your script & storyboard

Now that you have a specific topic in mind, you need to start writing the script and creating the storyboard. The script is a chronological run-down of scenes, shots and dialogues specifying who will say/do what. Your script should include a section describing your online presence (i.e. website and social media accounts).

Storyboarding, on the other hand, is a great tool for helping draft how you envision your video’s unfolding. You can use it to sketch out each video shot and scene. Moreover, you can add to it dialogue notes, rough images of your scenes as well as technical aspects and effects.

  • Find the right equipment

Armed with your video topic, script, storyboard and equipment, you are now ready to start shooting! Give yourself plenty of time for filming and reshoots. Also, keep in mind elements such as lighting and angles throughout the recording process.   • Edit your video

  1. Use simple transitions such as dissolve as you don’t want to distract your viewers with effects.
  2. Ensure that the audio is clear by using a noise removal tool.
  3. Add your business logo as a watermark.
  4. Have an intro and conclusion slide to highlight your online presence.

When the editing is done, export your video to .4MP or .AVI format.

  • Publish & promote your perfect video

Your video is ready and it’s time to share it with the public. Make sure you post it on your website as well as all your social media accounts. You can even use paid promotion and boosting to make sure it reaches a wider audience.
